We build it as custom development, for example a connection to another system, a webshop or a content management screen. You keep receiving the shared updates.

What we noticed is that a working week at a small company looks much the same everywhere. A project comes in, it gets an owner and a deadline, it belongs to a customer, documents gather around it, colleagues talk it through internally, and a meeting gets organised about it along the way. Industries differ, but the way the work runs does not.
So we built one application, not several separate programs that would have to be connected. The customer shows up on the task because the task belongs to them, and the contract is linked to the customer automatically.
There are no paid add-on modules, so everyone gets the same thing, and the price depends on headcount and storage. Every subscriber gets everything, because half a system is not a system.
The team names its own kanban columns, you build your own dashboard, and if something is missing, you can ask for a custom build.
Each of them serves a different purpose, and so does a specialist tool. These three are good at what they were built for, while IntrApp holds the whole of the work together.

Large systems can do an enormous amount. They have a field, a status and a permission setting for every conceivable case, and that is not an accident, because at some point somebody needed each one.
The trouble is that most of that depth is neither understood nor used by most of the people who have it. At an average company the case it was built for often never comes up, while the complexity arrives anyway, along with the training.
So we looked at what a small company actually does day to day, and built the system around that. Every screen is designed so that somebody opening it for the first time on a Monday morning can use it straight away.
When something is unclear, the built-in manual and the walkthrough explain it right where you got stuck. Every piece of information sits with the project it belongs to, dated, so anyone can comment on it and find it again later.
What you would use once a year at most is not in it. That has a price, and we would rather say so up front.
